2nd annual Interdisciplinary Approach to Philosophical Issues Conference (2009)

Hosted by the University of South Alabama
This year’s theme will be “Perception, Action, & Consciousness”
Sponsored by University of South Alabama Departments of Philosophy and Psychology and SGA

September 25-26, 2009

Keynote Speaker: Marcel Kinsbourne (New School for Social Research, Department of Psychology)

Special Invited Speakers: Andrea Scarantino and Daniel Weiskopf (Georgia State University, Department of Philosophy, Neuroscience Institute)

Submissions are currently being accepted for paper presentations.
Submissions are due no later than JULY 31. Early submissions are encouraged.

Submissions should include the following:

1) author's name
2) institutional affiliation
3) email address
4) telephone number
5) the presentation title
6) detailed abstract of 250-500 words

The full-length conference paper is not required for consideration. However, when possible, full-length paper submissions are encouraged.

We are currently offering two awards of $300 for best submitted papers. To be eligible for this award, you must submit full-length paper by deadline.

Paper presentations should be prepared for 25-minute presentation (approx. 2500 to 3000 words).

Papers related to any area of the conference theme (perception, action, consciousness), broadly construed, are welcome. We strongly encourage papers from across all disciplines, as long as the papers are philosophical in nature.

There will be a conference fee of $35 for non-students, $20 for students.
